Adams Motorsports Park Drift Series – Round 4

It was a bitter cold night at Adams Motorsports Park! I picked the wrong night to forget my jacket at work! Luckily Tim from Mr. Clean Promotions, lent me an extra he had in his truck. Thank you Tim!!! Now that I could feel my fingers again, I was ready for the final round of THE ADAMS DRIFT SERIES!!! All of the drivers looked extremely solid during practice, so I could tell that we were in for a fantastic show! With there being very small gaps in the points, I was sure that it would be a fight till the end! The pits were buzzing with excitement and anticipation. There were more cars out for the practice session than I had seen in a long time. There was a line full of excited people waiting to experience a ride along. My friend Shalise had come out to the track for the first time, and just had to try it! She went for a ride with non other than DJ Pow (Pow Pow). Faster than you could say Metro PCS, she was loaded into the car and off they went!
I could almost see the smile through her helmet as they pulled back into the pits after their run. There were some tense moments throughout the practice sessions, with some of the top drivers in the series having technical difficulties with their cars. I saw Spike, Pow and several other drivers working on their cars at the last minute. Points’ leader, Ryan Litteral, had to borrow a car to finish the series. Luckily it was another AE86 so it wasn’t too much of a change for him.
After a very impressive practice session the competition began! The drifting was fierce, although I must say the last round had a lot more close calls. All the drivers were on top of their games, with only a couple small mistakes being committed.
The judges really had their work cut out for them. They had to look for the smallest dirt drop or mistake to help choose the winner of each round. In the end it was Ryan Litteral taking the win both at the event and overall points standings,
Alex Villabrille in second and Rob “Spike” Chen rounding out the top three. Spike took the win in the rookie division and took home two sets of new tires.
It was a great end to a very fun and exciting series! Stay tuned… Adams has lots of events in the works! Sideways Sunday is Oct. 23rd! It’s an event you don’t want to miss!

The start of the Adams Drift Series kicked off last night with a super close qualifying setup which left barely points between 5th-10th place. Wrecked Magazine had a spot on the judging panel (taken by Joey Redmond) along with Riley Cahil from Falken Tire. After some crashes and amazing tandem battles we put together a solid podium and are prepping for Round 2 next month.
1st- Ryan Litteral (T3 Tuning Toyota Corolla)
2nd- Chris Jones (PNI Racing Nissan S13)
3rd- Rob Chen (V8 Powered FD Mazda Rx-7)

Riverside’s Adams Motorsports Park is home to the longest-running weekly drift nights, and now they’ve announced the arrival of their own 4-round Drift Series beginning as early as next week. Each round of the series will take place at one of the drift nights in July, August, September, and October as follows:
July 7th
August 11th
September 8th
October 6th
The race is a 4-race points series with a Formula D-style points structure and features cash payouts of $300 for first place winners per event, and an additional $500 for first place in the series with a possibility of additional prizes as sponsors sign on to the series.
Adams has created an event page outlining the full details and rules on Facebook, so check that out if you’re interested in getting involved as a participant or as a sponsor.

Adams Motorsports Park is the longest running weekly drift event in America and it goes down every Thursday night in Riverside, California. Many Formula Drift pros are in attendance on any given weekday and some even do shake down runs in their pro rides. We have heard that tonight John Russakoff will be in attendance at the track. It should be a good one so head on down if your local or make the drive out to Riverside! It is $5.00 to get in as a spectator and $20/hour to compete drifting all night at Adams.
